Three rooms in one building. A porch grill for trail riders, a bar that holds a wood-fired hearth, and a dining room that runs a prix fixe on Friday and Saturday nights.
Named after the iron-working shop that used to stand on the same footprint a hundred years ago. We kept the chimney, built the rest fresh, and put a wood-fired hearth where the forge used to sit.
Chef in residence runs a seasonal menu pulled from North Georgia and Western North Carolina growers. The mountain trout is local. So is everything on the cheese board.
The porch is loud and casual. The bar is warm and slow. The dining room is reservations only and takes its time. Pick the room, the food follows.
